Noise in the Basement Live Turns 10
98 Rock – the station that prides itself on breaking great local bands, proudly announces that its live, weekly local music showcase is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Noise in the Basement Live commemorates 10 years of making Monday night like a Saturday night – on Monday, August 12th.
Noise in the Basement Live happens every Monday starting at 8pm. While the venues have changed over the past decade, the show now calls, The Ottobar, home. Matt Davis has always been the host, along with a $4.98 cover and .98 drink specials. It’s a great occasion for local musicians to drop off demos, or the general public to simply stop by and enjoy great live music.
While local bands are featured, a pretty impressive list of national bands have also performed – including Zach Myers of Shinedown, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, Hollywood Undead, Breaking Benjamin, Red, Nonpoint and many more. Even cooler is the list of bands that played the show before or in-between getting record deals. The most popular is probably the Grammy Award Winning band – Halestorm! Other notables include Charm City Devils, members of Limp Bizkit (Mike Smith), All Time Low, Jimi Haha of Jimmie’s Chicken Shack & J. Roddy Walston and the Business.
